Working with a team of designers, we tackled the issue of student retention within colleges.
Our campaign strategy depended on changing the perception of educators, therefore improving the lives of students through empathy.

Our team’s objective was to highlight the problems faced by students and address the myths surrounding drop out rates. By providing tools for teachers and students to engage in dialogue, we could shift the perceptions currently believed to be true.
We began to dispel the seven myths by building our response around the following statement: “Student success depends upon the encouragement, empowerment and engagement

-- DIGITAL DESIGN CHALLENGE --
The design of an application to replace the current MySeneca interface was proposed as
part of a larger study into the strategies used to motivate college students to stay in school.

The solution is streamlined, intuitive and more easily navigated than the existing application. While working to keep the app integrated into a larger identity system, the iconography was taken from a proposed wayfinding system used throughout the campus. This works to relate the icons with common services students would be capable of accessing within the app.

To make the experience more accessible, features which control the sound, colors, and text size are included in the settings menu. I also remained conscious of the fact that students would expect to have faster access to features such as: email, blackboard accounts, mentors, counseling and various social organizations on campus.
