Construction Assets:
When a store needs to close down or relocate, there are a number of signage assets required to
make the transition as seamless as possible. This includes bargain signs to clear excess inventory
from the store and relocation signage to inform our customers of the changes.

Exterior Hoarding:
These fence banners were proposed as a new campaign to highlight notable authors and artists
from Canada and around the world. The campaign focused on encouraging customer
engagement and used established brand colors and typography to further drive sales.

Exterior Hoarding:
Once the fence banners are removed, vinyl banners are applied to any existing doors and
windows to promote a location’s opening date while the store is still under construction.

Planning Stage:
After reading both sets of plans released by our store development team, and making revisions
to them as necessary, we are able to create environments which inspire key graphic moments
throughout the space.

Sketchup Model:
In order to get a sense of the store before the interior is built, we are provided with a basic model
and can modify it based on our preferences. All interior graphics and wayfinding elements are
also added during this stage, after which the model is handed off for final approval.

Wayfinding:
Indigo stores are divided into various “shops” to help customers navigate to their favourite areas
more easily. By designing and installing the wayfinding in prominent places, we establish routes
that ensure our customers’ experience surpasses that of our competitors.

Creative Graphics:
Working at the scale of our elevations, we are able to create accurate mockups to show how our
graphics would create different experiences on the walls in our store. It is important for these
layouts to be as realistic as possible, since they are used during the installation process.

Barrier Free Signage:
As designers, we have a responsibility to create environments that are accessible. In the case
of signage at Indigo, we strive to make our experiences inclusive. This translates to following
AODA standards in our stores, such as using tactile signs enhanced with braille.
